I have been given a terminal illness diagnosis recently-cancer of the lung.

I am debating as to whether I will under go treatment or forgo the pain and indignity and travel throughout the U.S. and Europe until I can no longer physically do so.

All this by the way of saying, I have been recently contemplating my death and a celebratory service of some sort to comfort my loved ones after I am gone. (hope that doesn't sound too morbid to you )

Your performance of this ballad touches me deeply and I think it will provide some hope to those I leave behind. Would it be OK with you if it were played at my service? No reproductions will be made.
If there is a CD available that contains this track will you please tell me how I might find it and notify me at the email address above?

Thank You so very much for sharing your wonderful gift. Sheila Jelley

There are times in our lives when it seems everything is tested at once. For my family, last week was an arduous test of patience, resolve, fortitude, and love. As bad as things were for me, I can only imagine how things were for you guys. From the unnerving feeling of the environment to the complete mystery of my ailment and what the future would hold, one would have to assume there was little happiness to be had.

One would be wrong, however. Even in my most incoherent moments, I could literally feel everyone there, surrounding me with an impossible amount of love and happiness. You were an immense part of that, and I don't have the words to thank you enough.

Oh, and while your description of the room was spot on, you left out the wonderful aroma that surrounded the stroke ward. Then again, maybe your brain has forced you to forget those details in order to protect itself ;)

Thank you, brother.

I understand the need for fear when it comes to possible emotional pain as that type of pain is so much more crippling than almost anything that can happen to you physically. I'm not saying you should always let your fears stop you (as they certainly can hold you back from experiencing some of the greatest joys in life) but you shouldn't simply ignore them either. Fear is a manifestation of your "inner voice" that can keep you from recklessly and needlessly having your heart smashed...if you know when to listen to it.

I really like the overall premise behind your song though, and look forward to hearing it.

Hola amigo! I totally feel you on the fear-mongering media hype. I first noticed it with the DHS's bs Security Threat Level earlier in the century, and I had hoped it would disappear with the Bush Administration, but it seems to have outlived that travesty, and continues to "infect" the hearts and minds of Americans. We're so gullible. It does make me wonder, why all the hype? What's really going on? Why am I not afraid? What do I know that the rest of America doesn't know? Why do they believe the nonsense? I, too, have not met anyone buying the garbage, but I have met people, mostly in Mexico but trickling down to Panama, who are affected by the sharp drop in tourism. It's sad that people would let a fear implanted in them by the media paralyze them. That is what frightens me. Anyways, rock on!
pura vida,
Dawna
